Assisting Communities
The Land Conservancy of West Michigan (LCWM) works with local governments to help identify important natural areas, preserve open space and create community parks. LCWM often acts as a negotiator to help structure transactions and assists with grant writing to secure project funding.

Meinert County Park Expansion: Muskegon County and the Land Conservancy protected natural area adjacent to Meinert Park, expanding the park to 183 acres.

Lost Lake: With help from the Land Conservancy, 68 acres of forest, wetlands and lake frontage were forever protected and added to Muskegon State Park.

North Ottawa Dunes: The Land Conservancy helped Ottawa County Parks protect 500 acres in Spring Lake Township as a county park.
Current Projects

Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area: With the help of several partners, including the City of Saugatuck, the Land Conservancy is currently working to protect 171-acres adjacent to the City of Saugatuck's Oval Beach.
