Land Protection

For forty years, the Land Conservancy has been working with communities and private landowners to preserve land. The following three methods are used to protect land in West Michigan:
Conservation Easements

Conservation easements provide landowners with a way to permanently preserve their land while maintaining private ownership.
Community Conservation

The Land Conservancy assists local communities and governments in their efforts to create parks and preserve open space.
Nature Preserves

The Land Conservancy protects land that it owns and manages as nature preserves throughout West Michigan. These preserves are open to the public and include hiking trails and scenic outlooks.
